I created the Eileen and Eva treatment apparel collection to bring delight to women whose lives have been derailed by cancer. Fashion is a force for healing. Our spirit is lifted and our body is transformed.
My Mom, Eileen, had a sharp mind, a sophisticated style and a remarkable drive. Mostly, she had a great heart. Her dream was for us to start a business together. Our plan was never realized. In 2016, after a 7-year battle with ovarian cancer, my mom passed away.
I, like my Mom, had a BRCA gene mutation, which placed me at a high risk of breast and ovarian cancer. I decided to have preventive surgeries, a double mastectomy and a total hysterectomy with oophorectomy, to minimize my risk and anxiety. With 6 successful surgeries over 18 months, I came to understand my Mom’s frustration in searching for attractive clothing to retain her sense of identity and control.
Our dream to share a business ended, but another was born, Eileen & Eva®. It enables me to honor her and to serve as a beacon for women seeking style and dignity in the aftermath of a cancer diagnosis and more. My brand’s mantra, Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful, mirrors Mom’s strength and quiet confidence. It fuels my passion, too.
My extensive experience in the luxury cosmetics industry combined with my tireless research with fashion-minded survivors and previvors inspires Eileen & Eva®. My signature collection, Heal With Style, carries you effortlessly from post-surgery through treatments and beyond. Each piece is thoughtfully designed with a front closure, port and PICC line access, and drain pockets. It solves a myriad of problems with elegance and ease.
This collection can stand alone or add sophistication with gorgeous accessories. Simple lines and neutral colors are easily layered or mixed and matched, to take you from sun up through sun down. After extensive research on fabric, I specifically picked eco-friendly Tencel™. Its moisture-wicking, anti-microbial, and cool-touch properties moderate the effects of hot flashes and it is tender with sensitive skin. This special fabric is refined and resilient – just like the women I’m delighted to dress!
Magic happens with fashion. I want to build a heartfelt brand that captures my Mom’s amazing spirit and love of style. When I see women looking fabulous and confident in Eileen & Eva®, I know that my Mom would be proud!
